A little history…
Cultivated in Sicily from the 14th century, it has been distilled from the 16th century. More specifically, it is the lemon zest that allows to obtain a fresh and tangy essence. Already in the Middle Ages, it was recommended by the Persian doctor Avicenne, to fight against vomiting. Later, it has been also used to remove unpleasant odors. Today, lemon essential oil is an essential in aromatherapy, especially for its action on the digestive sphere.
